Shinagawa Shrine, Shinto shrine in Kita-Shinagawa, Japan.
The shrine complex contains a main hall with copper shingle roof, ornamental metalwork, stone torii gates, and ascending stone stairs.
Minamoto no Yoritomo, founder of the Kamakura Government, established Shinagawa Shrine in 1187 to ensure the security of maritime vessels.
During the annual Reitaisai festival in June, portable shrine bearers from neighboring regions perform with drums and flutes in Shinagawa-byoshi style.
Located at 3-7-15 Kitashinagawa, the shrine stands one minute from Shin-Banba Station on the Keikyu Main Line, north exit.
The shrine features a 15-meter fujizuka mound constructed in 1869 with lava rocks from Mount Fuji, representing the largest surviving fujizuka in Japan.
