Higashi-Shinagawa Sea Park, Urban park in Higashi-Shinagawa, Japan.
Higashi-Shinagawa Sea Park is a waterfront urban park divided by a canal into northern and southern sections, with the Isle bridge connecting these two areas. The northern portion features open spaces and recreation areas, while the southern side includes a rooftop garden with views of Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba.
This location was ocean during the Edo Period, spanning the 1600s through 1868, before the area was reclaimed from the sea. The maritime design of the park today reflects this water-based origin.
The park weaves maritime themes into its layout, with a large whale-shaped slide and wave-like play structures that make the waterfront connection playful for children. These features create a direct link to the area's connection with the sea.
The park is easily reached on foot from Tennozu Isle Station on the Rinkai Line, which is just minutes away. Visitors can walk across the Isle bridge to explore both sections and enjoy the waterfront views from different angles throughout the grounds.
The southern section features flower beds arranged in the shapes of Miffy characters, the beloved Dutch cartoon figure. This unexpected blend of urban park design and playful character imagery makes this corner feel whimsical.
