Hōzen-ji, Buddhist temple in Shinagawa-ku, Japan

Founded in 1384, Hōzen-ji temple has endured through centuries of Tokyo's transformation, surviving natural disasters and maintaining its original location.
The temple holds regular Buddhist ceremonies where residents gather to participate in meditation sessions and receive teachings from resident monks.
Visitors can reach the temple by taking a 10-minute walk from Shinagawa station, following the eastern exit toward the residential district.
The temple houses a collection of ancient scrolls depicting the evolution of Buddhist practices in the Shinagawa district during the Muromachi period.
