Horikawa Ebisu Shrine is a shrine in Nishitenma, Osaka dedicated to Ebisu and the deities Sukunahikona and Ameno Futodama. The structure features traditional wooden buildings with ornately decorated roofs and distinct worship areas for each deity.
The shrine was relocated to its current site between 1352 and 1355 and became known as Kita no Ebessan. Following destruction during World War II, it underwent complete reconstruction and restoration.
The shrine hosts the Tōka Ebisu festival each year from January 9 to 11, drawing visitors who seek blessings for business success and prosperity. The celebration brings the community together through shared hopes for a prosperous year.
Access is straightforward, as the site is within a short walk of Minamimorimachi Station or roughly 10 minutes from Tenma Station on foot. The grounds are open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM for visitors.
The Fukkō Ebisu statue was created from a pillar of a destroyed stone torii gate following the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. The artwork represents the community's resilience in the face of natural disaster.
