The Oe Building is a five-story reinforced concrete office structure in Kita that blends Renaissance and Neoclassical architectural elements on its facade. Geometric patterns and distinctive bronze rain gutters define its exterior appearance.
History
Built in 1921 by lawyer Oe, this structure initially housed office spaces for legal professionals located near Osaka High Court. It reflects a period of expanded building activity for modern business structures in the city.
Culture
The ground and basement floors preserve original marble staircases with wooden railings from the Taisho modernist period. These elements reflect how the interior spaces were designed to blend functionality with craftsmanship.
