Innoshima Flower Center

The Innoshima Flower Center is a botanical garden in Onomichi with multiple greenhouses containing tropical plants, seasonal blooms, and broad outdoor areas on its grounds. The collections include specialized sections for fruit-bearing trees such as bananas and mangos.

The center opened in April 1990 as a major expansion of botanical facilities in the Hiroshima region. It has since grown into an important collection and education hub for regional plant diversity.

The center hosts exhibitions and programs about plant care and seasonal flowering patterns throughout the year. Visitors experience how local gardening traditions connect with contemporary cultivation methods.

The site provides parking for around 90 vehicles and is typically open from morning until late afternoon, with weekly rest days. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes as time is spent both outdoors and inside greenhouses.

The grounds sit along the Shimanami Kaido expressway and offer views of the sea from several spots while walking among the plant collections. This blend of maritime views and botanical displays is uncommon in such settings.
