Josei Falls

Josei Falls is a waterfall in Miyoshi that drops 126 meters and flows through three distinct sections, each with different water patterns and characteristics. The water cascades over steep rock faces, creating a dynamic display that changes with the seasons and water levels.

The waterfall formed over thousands of years through water erosion as the Go-no-kawa River system shaped the landscape of this region. The site has been part of the local geography for a long time and remains an important natural feature in Hiroshima Prefecture.

During winter, the falls can freeze into icy cascades with frozen patterns on the rock face, transforming the appearance of the entire site. This frozen phase lasts only briefly, so some visitors travel specifically during this season to witness this rare and unusual transformation.
