Tokyo Skytree East Tower is a commercial skyscraper featuring 31 floors above ground and 3 basement levels within the Tokyo Skytree Town development. The building reaches 158 meters high and contains retail spaces, offices, and various public areas.
Construction of the Tokyo Skytree East Tower began on 14 July 2008 and the building opened on 22 May 2012, the same day as Tokyo Skytree Town. It is owned by Tobu Railway, and the headquarters of Tobu Tower Skytree, the company operating Tokyo Skytree, is located inside. Initial office rents of about 25,000 yen per tsubo attracted only four tenants; after rents were cut to about 18,000 yen, roughly 90% of floors were occupied by 2024.
The tower hosts shops, restaurants, and entertainment spaces that shape how visitors spend their time and make it a gathering point for locals and tourists alike. Its design incorporates contemporary Japanese architectural principles while serving as a working commercial hub.
The tower is easily reached via Tokyo Skytree Station or Oshiage Station, with direct bus connections from Haneda Airport. Most areas are accessible to people with mobility needs, with elevators and clear pathways throughout all levels.
The East Tower's 30th and 31st floors hold the Sora Machi Dining Skytree View restaurants, reached by two dedicated Toshiba elevators. Since December 2019 these lifts also stop at the 12th-floor Sky Lobby on weekday office hours, letting office workers ride straight up to the dining floors.
