Tochigi Nakagawa Aquatic Park, Public aquarium and recreational park in Otawara, Japan
Located along the Nakagawa River, this aquatic facility displays 300 species and 20,000 fish in naturalistic habitats spread across multiple exhibition zones.
The Tochigi Nakagawa Aquatic Park opened its doors in July 2001 as the first and sole aquarium facility in Tochigi Prefecture.
The park maintains exhibits of local freshwater species from Nakagawa River, connecting visitors to regional aquatic ecosystems through educational programs.
The facility operates from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM with entrance fees of 650 yen for adults and 250 yen for students, including access to fishing areas.
The centerpiece Amazon tank features a 2-meter Pirarucu among 100 different species, making it the largest freshwater display in the region.
