Yokohama Media Tower

Yokohama Media Tower is a tall building in Minatomirai that houses offices, shops, and an observation deck at the top. The structure spans 70 floors and brings together workspaces and public areas under one roof.

NTT Facilities completed this telecommunications center in 1999, creating a hub for the city's media infrastructure. The project was part of the wider modernization push in the harbor district.

The tower blends modern Japanese design with technological function, reflecting how the Minatomirai district transformed through such structures. When you enter, you see how the space weaves together offices, shops, and public areas.

You can reach the tower easily from Sakuragicho Station via an elevated walkway that connects directly to the entrance. Fast elevators carry you upward quickly, so waiting time is minimal.

The building contains special damping systems that counteract wind forces and keep the tall structure stable. This technical approach is part of an invisible safety structure you likely never notice, yet it allows the tower to stand firm.
