Mitsuike Park, Urban park in Tsurumi-ku, Japan
Mitsuike Park is an urban park featuring three ponds ringed by roughly 1,600 cherry trees in around 78 different varieties. The grounds span a large area with diverse zones to explore.
The park was established in April 1957, transforming this Yokohama area into a protected recreation space. Since then it has served local residents as a key place for outdoor leisure.
A Korean garden here showcases traditional mountain village architecture, honoring visits from Korean officials in the early 1900s. Walking through this section, you notice a different design style from the rest of the park.
The park is best reached by bus - routes 6, 67, and 104 depart from JR Tsurumi Station West Exit to the Mitsuike-Koen-Kitamon stop. The pathways are well maintained and accessible for visitors of varying mobility levels.
Two distinct walking trails loop through the park: one circles the ponds for watching waterbirds, the other winds through densely wooded areas. This split layout allows different experiences depending on which path you choose.
