福岡市立少年科学文化会館, Science museum in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka, Japan.
The Fukuoka City Youth Science and Culture Center was a six-story building with exhibits covering natural sciences, robotics, and railway models. The spaces displayed hands-on examples from different scientific fields for visitors of all ages.
The facility opened in 1971 and served the community for more than four decades. It closed on March 30, 2016, after nearly five decades of operation.
The center functioned as an educational hub where local high school students participated in wood crafting workshops and scientific demonstrations.
The location was a five-minute walk from Akasaka Station, making it easy to reach. The museum operated from Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours during school vacation periods.
A distinctive feature was the on-site planetarium theater, which regularly presented astronomical programs for children and adults. This planetarium was one of the main attractions for school groups and families.
