Fukugon-ji, Buddhist temple of the Obaku school in Yanagawa, Japan

The Fukugon-ji temple complex includes several structures such as the main hall dedicated to Shaka Nyorai and a bell tower with traditional designs.

The temple was established in 1587 by Tachibana Muneshige and later transitioned to the Obaku school of Zen Buddhism in 1669 under Tachibana Tadashige.

The temple functions as the funeral temple for the Tachibana clan, with all nine families buried on the premises behind the main hall.

Located at 32-1 Oshumachi in Yanagawa, the temple welcomes visitors interested in exploring Japanese Buddhist architecture and religious practices.

The cemetery contains the final resting places of notable Japanese writers Ken Hase and Kazuo Dan, adding literary significance to its religious importance.
