Ryōsei-ji

Ryōsei-ji is a Buddhist temple in Yanagawa featuring rectangular gardens with carefully positioned stones set amid raked pebbles. The patterns created in these gardens are designed to support meditation and reflection.

The temple was established in 1621 by Tachibana Muneshige after he regained control of Yanagawa, serving as a memorial dedicated to his wife. Its construction represented a significant spiritual undertaking for the family.
