Tatsuta Bridge, Road bridge in Aisai City, Japan.
Tatsuta Bridge is a road bridge crossing the Kiso River, roughly 1 kilometer long and 12 meters wide for vehicle traffic. It connects three prefectures and allows passage across the river for daily transportation.
The bridge opened in 1984 as a key connection for the three prefectures of Aichi, Gifu, and Mie. It was developed as a regional transportation project to improve accessibility across the river.
The bridge links to Kisosansen Park, a gathering place where people from the region come together for community events and leisure activities. Local families use the spaces on both sides of the river for celebrations and daily recreation.
The east side has sports grounds and free parking, while the west side offers camping areas and multipurpose fields. Both sides of the river are easy to explore, with clear paths and spaces for various activities.
When water levels drop, sand bars form beneath the bridge where local fishermen collect Yamato clams using traditional methods. This seasonal activity reflects a long-standing local fishing tradition.
