船宿寺, Buddhist temple in Gose, Japan
Senshukuji Temple features traditional Japanese architecture with a main hall, bell tower, and stone gates positioned on a gentle slope.
The temple was established by the Buddhist monk Gyoki after receiving a vision about a boat-shaped rock formation in the mountains.
The temple grounds include a stroll garden with a pond that incorporates the mountain backdrop, following classical Japanese garden design principles.
Visitors can access the temple between 8:00 and 17:00, with admission fees of 400 yen for adults and university students, 350 yen for high school students.
The temple gardens contain over 1,000 azalea plants that create a colorful display during the spring flowering season from late April to mid-May.
