Built between the 3rd and 6th centuries AD, this burial mound belongs to the Kofun period when megalithic tombs marked the graves of ruling class members.
Archaeological excavations at Wakigami Kansuzuka Kofun revealed terracotta figures called haniwa, which served as protective markers around the burial site.
