Hanamiyama Park, Mountain flower garden in Fukushima, Japan
Hanamiyama Park contains over 70 varieties of spring flowers, including cherry blossoms, plum trees, and forsythia across its hillside terrain.
The park originated from farmland when local flower farmers transformed woodland into cultivation fields and opened them to visitors in 1959.
Photographer Shotaro Akiyama named this location 'the Shangri-La of Fukushima', leading to its recognition as a national flower destination.
The park operates from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM without admission fees, offering shuttle buses from temporary parking lots during cherry blossom season.
From the summit, visitors observe a contrast between the Azuma mountain range and the multicolored flower fields stretching across the slopes.
