Sodegaura Seaside Park, Seaside park in Sodegaura, Japan.
Sodegaura Seaside Park is an 8-hectare waterfront park that stretches along Tokyo Bay, offering walking paths, open lawns, and picnic areas for visitors. An observation tower rises from the park grounds, allowing people to look out across the bay and surrounding landscape.
The park was built on reclaimed land that was recovered from Tokyo Bay through land reclamation efforts, and opened to the public in April 2004. This transformation of industrial land into a public park marked a new beginning for this coastal area.
The park includes a plaza with a specially designed lawn that mirrors the shape of Tokyo Bay, helping visitors understand the geography of the area. This landscaped space invites people to reflect on the relationship between the park and the surrounding waters.
The park provides free entry and parking, with two restroom facilities located on the grounds and barbecue areas available for use on weekends. Arriving early helps you find the best spots and gives you time to explore all areas comfortably.
From the park's 25-meter observation platform, visitors can spot Mount Fuji on clear days, along with Tokyo Skytree and the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line bridge crossing the waters. This single viewpoint connects several landmarks of the Kanto region in one place.
