豊橋本線料金所, Former tollbooth on Tomei Expressway in Toyohashi, Japan.
The Toyohashi Mainline Tollbooth was a control station on the Tomei Expressway equipped with twenty-one lanes for northbound and southbound traffic. The facility processed thousands of vehicles daily traveling between the Tokyo and Nagoya regions.
The tollbooth opened in 1988 to prevent fraudulent ticket exchanges at service areas. It closed in 2007 after electronic toll collection systems became widespread.
The tollbooth represented a meeting point for long-distance drivers, where staff verified journey tickets and maintained traffic flow between different regions of Japan.
The site is no longer accessible as the tollbooth has been demolished. The location was later redeveloped into a service area.
After demolition, the site was redeveloped into a service area that operates at the same location today. This transition reflects how Japan modernized its highway infrastructure.
