須賀川アリーナ, Indoor sports complex in Sukagawa, Japan
Sukagawa Arena is a sports complex in Japan with multiple training and competition spaces. The main building contains areas for basketball, tennis, and table tennis, along with spectator seating and changing facilities.
The complex opened in 1994 as part of a regional infrastructure project. It later served an important role as an emergency shelter during a major natural disaster in Japan.
The facility houses a memorial dedicated to Tsuburaya Kokichi, a marathon runner from Sukagawa who competed for Japan at the Olympics. Visitors can learn about this local athlete's sporting achievements in a dedicated hall.
The complex offers good access with parking available for vehicles nearby. Visitors should note that changing and shower facilities are on-site, and the grounds are clearly laid out with different sports areas.
The facility had to undergo major renovation after flood damage from a natural disaster in 2019. It reopened with improved protection against future events.
