Tono Bridge, Arched bridge in Tono, Japan
The Tono Bridge spans the Miyamori River with four connected arches that create a reflection pattern in the water beneath the structure.
The bridge serves as a passage for both the Kamaishi Highway and the railway line, connecting communities in the Iwate Prefecture since its construction.
The bridge forms part of the route for the SL Ginga locomotive train, which draws inspiration from Kenji Miyazawa's novel Night on the Galactic Railroad.
Visitors can reach the bridge through a 10-minute walk from Miyamori Station or by car along the Kamaishi Highway Route 283.
The modern amphitheater next to the bridge provides multiple viewing levels, including a riverside platform for photography of the structure.
