兵庫県立文化体育館, Sports and culture complex in Nagata, Kobe, Japan
The Hyogo Prefectural Cultural Gymnasium is a multipurpose sports and events venue with a main auditorium seating 2,474 people and a smaller hall with 138 seats. The facility includes dedicated courts and pools for judo, kendo, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, and swimming, along with meeting rooms and studios.
The current building was constructed in 1998 as a replacement following damage from the Great Hanshin earthquake of 1995. The reconstruction was part of broader efforts to modernize and revitalize the region after the disaster.
The venue hosts sports competitions, music concerts, and traditional martial arts training sessions throughout the year. Visitors often see both professional athletes and local groups using the space on the same day.
The facility is easily accessible by public transport and provides parking options for visitors arriving by car. Check in advance about access requirements and what to bring, as rules vary depending on the type of event being held.
The venue was renamed Kobe Tokiwa Arena in 2017 and serves as the home court for professional B.LEAGUE basketball championship teams. This connection to contemporary Japanese basketball makes it a significant venue for sports enthusiasts.
