Nirasaki Ōmura Art Museum, Art museum in Nirasaki, Japan

The Nirasaki Ōmura Art Museum holds over 2,000 artworks including paintings, sculptures, and ceramics created by prominent Japanese artists throughout multiple exhibition spaces.

Professor Satoshi Ōmura, a Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology or Medicine, established this private art museum in 2007 before donating it to Nirasaki city in 2008.

The museum maintains dedicated spaces featuring works by twentieth-century artist Shintaro Suzuki and earthenware pieces from the Mingei movement by Tatsuzo Shimaoka and Bernard Leach.

The museum operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with last entry at 4:30 PM, charging 500 yen for adults and offering free admission to local students and visitors with disabilities.

The facility includes a section displaying Professor Ōmura's personal achievements, including his Nobel Prize and childhood skiing medals, alongside a soba restaurant and hot spring bath.
