Fukui City Art Museum

The Fukui City Art Museum is an art institution in Fukui with a permanent collection and rotating exhibitions displayed in bright, spacious galleries. The rooms are naturally lit and present both established and experimental art forms.

The museum was founded in 1977 and has developed into an important art institution in the region. Its collections include works by Japanese masters from different periods of art history.

The building was designed by renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa and is itself an architectural point of interest. Inside, an auditorium screens high-resolution video presentations about art museums and their collections worldwide.
