Furano Prince Hotel, building in Furano, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan
Furano Prince Hotel is a resort hotel at the base of the ski slopes in Furano, a town in central Hokkaido. It has several restaurants, shops, a golf course, and a free shuttle to the town center.
The hotel opened in 1988 and quickly became a central point for winter tourism in Furano. Its position directly at the slope base helped draw visitors from across Japan and from abroad.
The hotel sits right at the foot of the slopes, so guests often walk through the lobby still in ski boots. The hot spring baths follow classic onsen rules, where visitors wash thoroughly before entering and soak in near silence.
The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from Furano town and offers free parking along with a shuttle to key spots in the area. The slopes are reachable on foot directly from the building, so no transfer is needed on ski days.
Some rooms have private open-air baths with a direct view of the snow-covered slopes right outside. The contrast between the cold mountain air and the hot water makes these baths especially popular in the deepest part of winter.
