'Minna no Mori' Gifu Media Cosmos, Public building and library complex in Gifu, Japan

The Gifu Media Cosmos spans 15,444 square meters across two floors and a basement, featuring large fabric globes suspended from the ceiling.

The facility began construction in July 2013 following designs by architect Toyo Ito and opened its doors to the public in July 2015.

The building contains multiple exhibition spaces, a multicultural plaza, and extensive library resources that support community education and artistic expression.

Visitors can access conference rooms, studios, and the main library located on the second floor through an integrated system of directional signs.

Eleven enormous globes made from triaxial woven fabric hang throughout the library space, incorporating patterns that guide visitors through the open layout.
