若桜町立若桜学園, Combined elementary and junior high school in Wakasa, Japan
Wakasa Gakuen is a combined elementary and middle school in Wakasa that teaches students from first through ninth grade on a single campus. The modern classrooms feature air conditioning and wireless networks to create a contemporary learning environment.
The school was founded in April 2012 through the merger of Wakasa Elementary School and Wakasa Junior High School, becoming the second integrated school in Tottori Prefecture. This fusion brought together the resources and traditions of both former institutions under one roof.
The school emblem combines cherry blossom petals and sprouting leaves, which together symbolize the connection to both predecessor schools and Wakasa's local heritage.
The school is located 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) from Wakasa Station on the Wakasa Railway Line, making it reasonably walkable from the station. It serves students from all areas of Wakasa Town and features accessible entrances to the campus grounds.
The school has maintained a student exchange program since 2013 with Pyeongchang County in Gangwon Province, South Korea, allowing for regular visits and cultural encounters. This international engagement enables students to gain perspectives beyond their local community.
