久野脇橋, Suspension bridge in Kawanehon, Japan.
Kunowaki Bridge is a wooden pedestrian bridge stretching 220 meters across the Oi River, built using traditional engineering methods. It connects residential areas on both sides while also spanning the Oi River Railway line beneath it.
The bridge was built in 1932, marking a major milestone in local infrastructure development. Its construction reflects the engineering capabilities available at that time for such large-scale projects.
The structure carries a local nickname 'Koigane Bridge', which was given during the 40th anniversary celebration of the former Nakakawane town in 2002.
The location is only about a minute on foot from Shiogo Station, making it easy to reach. This makes it a convenient crossing point for both residents and visitors to the area.
The structure was remarkable when built because it accommodated both railway and road traffic beneath its span. This dual function was an engineering solution that allowed both transportation routes to be connected together.
