Sumata-kyō, Canyon in Kawanehon, Japan.
The Sumata River flows through a 100-meter-deep gorge, creating a natural formation with turquoise waters surrounded by mountain slopes.
The canyon developed over centuries through the erosion of the Sumata River, which joins the Oi River in the Southern Alps mountain range.
Local residents maintain traditional onsen baths near the canyon, where mineral-rich waters reach temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius.
Visitors reach the canyon via train to Senzu station on the Oigawa Main Line, followed by a 20-kilometer bus ride to the entrance.
The Yume no Tsuribashi suspension bridge spans 90 meters across the gorge, permitting only 10 people to cross simultaneously for safety measures.
