Niigata Prefectural Children's Nature Kingdom is an amusement park in Kashiwazaki, in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The grounds include open fields, forests, a stream, a dome-shaped indoor building with activity rooms, a hot spring bath, and a campsite with tree houses and cabins.
The land was already used by local residents for outdoor recreation before it was developed into an organized facility. Over the years, structures were added gradually, turning it into the mix of indoor and outdoor spaces it is today.
The local word 'Jonnobi' means 'taking it easy,' and it gives the park its relaxed character. Visitors can see this in the way families move slowly through the grounds, stopping to watch insects or sit by the water.
The park is easiest to reach by car, and a large parking area is available on site. The indoor dome building provides shelter when the weather is poor, so a visit works in any season.
The hot spring inside the park contains sodium bicarbonate and chloride, a combination traditionally linked to soothing joints and nerves. It is rare to find a genuine hot spring bath built into a children's amusement park.
