称往院, Buddhist temple in Setagaya-ku, Japan
The temple complex features several Buddhist structures including a main hall, pagoda, and cemetery spread across extensive grounds filled with maple trees.
Established in 1480 as Kōtoku-in, the temple became the burial site for the Ii clan after a feudal lord donated land during the Edo period.
The temple houses a dedicated Shofuku-den pavilion containing numerous Maneki-neko cat statues, which are believed to bring fortune to visitors.
Located just minutes from Gotokuji Station on the Odakyu Line, the temple welcomes visitors daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM without admission fees.
The temple maintains a collection of white porcelain Maneki-neko figurines, which visitors can purchase and add to the existing display as offerings.
