妙寿寺

Myojuji is a Buddhist temple with traditional wooden buildings arranged around a two-story main hall and connected prayer spaces. The structures feature crafted wooden details and are set within landscaped grounds that create a sense of separation from the busy city outside.

The temple was established at a different location and relocated to this site following a major earthquake in the 1920s that devastated the region. This move brought the temple to its present grounds where it has remained since.

The temple serves as a place where followers practice their faith through daily rituals and meditation in the main hall and prayer rooms. You can observe the spiritual rhythm of the space through the arrangement of altars and the quiet devotion that takes place here.

The temple is accessible on foot from nearby train stations and the entrance is clearly marked from the street. Wear comfortable shoes if you plan to walk the grounds and explore the buildings at a leisurely pace.

Portions of the main building were originally part of a noble family residence and were brought to this site in the early 1900s. This reuse of older structures means you are looking at architectural elements with a hidden origin story.
