Shibuya Parco・Hulic Building

Shibuya Parco Hulic Building is a modern shopping and entertainment complex near Shibuya Station with 19 floors above ground and 3 basement levels. The structure houses retail spaces, restaurants, galleries, and cinemas spread across multiple tiers.

The building opened as part of a major urban redevelopment project in the Shibuya Station area, marking the modernization of this central Tokyo district. It resulted from the coordinated development of two neighboring city blocks into one integrated space.

The building houses galleries, boutiques, and performance spaces where contemporary design from Japan and beyond is on display. These venues reflect the neighborhood's character as a place for young, experimental creative expression.

The site is easily reached on foot from Shibuya Station and is well connected to the city's public transit system. The building is straightforward to navigate with clear signage, and different levels are accessible via elevators and stairs.

The building received the 2020 Good Design Award, an honor that recognized its approach to merging modern architecture with visitor needs. This recognition reflects how thoughtfully the design was conceived to optimize the space for everyday use.
