Dotonbori Theater

Dotonbori Theater is a small performing space for strip shows in Shibuya, close to subway exit A0. The room is furnished with seats on several levels facing a compact stage.

The original venue opened in 1970 and closed several times before relaunching in 2001 with a revised format. From the mid-eighties, the program adapted to new regulations governing adult entertainment.

The name recalls a famous entertainment district in Osaka, though the venue sits in Tokyo. Visitors today watch choreographed performances with costumes and stage designs that follow theatrical traditions.

Shows begin at midday and run into late evening, with exact times subject to change. Discounts apply in the afternoon and for certain visitor groups.

Some evening performances incorporate literary themes usually reserved for traditional stage houses in Japan. This blend of entertainment and scripted dialogue sets the venue apart from many similar spaces.
