Saimyoji Falls

Saimyoji Falls is a waterfall in Takarazuka that cascades down through several levels surrounded by thick forest and natural rock formations. The water creates small pools between each drop, allowing visitors to experience the flow from different viewpoints along the trail.

The falls became known during the Edo period when Buddhist monks from a nearby temple created meditation spots there. This spiritual connection shaped the place and continues to draw people interested in its past.

Local residents regularly participate in seasonal festivals near the falls, incorporating traditional purification rituals and water ceremonies throughout the year.

The easiest way to reach the falls is by taking the Hankyu train to Minoh Station and following the marked hiking trail from there. Sturdy footwear is recommended due to wet and mossy surfaces along the route.

The falls change dramatically with the seasons, forming ice patterns in winter while summer brings a much stronger water flow. This seasonal transformation makes each visit feel like a completely different experience.
