Manganji Temple, Buddhist temple in Kawanishi, Japan.
The temple grounds contain a main hall rebuilt in 1653, a bell tower from 1658, and an Observation Hall featuring a dragon painting on the ceiling.
Founded during the Nara period under Emperor Shomu's decree, Manganji Temple became a prayer site for the Minamoto clan during the Heian period.
The temple serves as the 13th station of the New Saigoku Pilgrimage, with the Thousand-Armed Kannon as its principal deity in the Observation Hall.
The temple opens daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and visitors can reach it by taking a bus from Hibarigaoka-Hanayashiki Station to Manganji stop.
The temple's nine-tiered stone pagoda, constructed in 1293, stands as a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan.
