Seooreung

Seooreung contains five royal tombs situated within carefully arranged stone structures, walking paths, and ceremonial buildings across an extensive green space.

The burial grounds, established during the Joseon Dynasty between 1408 and 1966, contain the remains of multiple Korean kings and queens from this period.

The tombs demonstrate traditional Korean burial practices through their architectural elements and spatial arrangements, following specific Confucian principles of design.

The site provides guided tours in multiple languages, with dedicated parking facilities and a visitor center offering detailed information about the royal tombs.

Each tomb within Seooreung features different stone animal statues representing guardian spirits, positioned according to specific astronomical alignments.
