Jinkwansa, Buddhist temple in Eunpyeong District, South Korea
Jinkwansa temple stands within Bukhansan National Park, featuring multiple halls including Daeungjeon, Myeongbujeon, and Nahanjeon spread across the mountainous grounds.
King Hyeonjong of the Goryeo Dynasty ordered the construction of this temple to express gratitude to Buddhist priest Jinkwan who saved his life.
The temple maintains traditional Suryukjae ceremonies, specific Buddhist rituals dedicated to spirits, while incorporating educational programs about monastic practices.
Visitors can reach the temple by taking bus 7211 or 7723 from Gupabal Station Exit 3 on Subway Line 3 to Hanago Station.
The temple distinguishes itself through specialized training programs for female monks, setting it apart from other Buddhist institutions in South Korea.
