懷墓

This burial site is a royal tomb complex in Goyang featuring ceremonial structures and grass-covered mounds built according to traditional Korean design principles. The grounds include distinct areas for ritual activities and sacred spaces arranged in patterns characteristic of the Joseon era.

The site was established in 1482 and was relocated from its original location in Jangdan County. After moving through several locations, including Dongdaemun District, it eventually settled in Goyang where it remains today.

The site follows Korean geomantic principles, where the position of ancestral remains is thought to influence prosperity and energy for descendants. You can see how the arrangement of mounds and structures deliberately harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.
