Samneung, Royal burial plot in Paju, South Korea.
The Samneung site contains three separate royal tombs positioned on elevated terrain, featuring traditional stone sculptures and ceremonial walkways throughout the grounds.
During the Joseon Dynasty, this burial ground became the final resting place for Queen Jangsun, Queen Gonghye, King Jinjong, and Queen Hyosun.
The tombs follow traditional Korean burial architecture with T-shaped wooden shrines, stone figures, and specific orientations according to Confucian principles.
Visitors can access the site from March to October between 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM, and from November to February between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
Two royal sisters, Queen Jangsun and Queen Gonghye, rest in adjacent tombs facing each other, marking an exceptional occurrence in Korean royal history.
