Mt. Ohdu Unification Observatory

The Mt. Ohdu Unification Observatory stands at the junction of the Han and Imjin rivers and provides views across to North Korean areas and Seoul landmarks. The five-story structure allows comprehensive views of the surrounding landscape and distant urban features.

The facility opened in 1992 on a site where Goguryeo and Baekje kingdoms clashed during the Three Kingdoms period. This strategic location at a river crossing has held importance for the region across centuries.

The site is best reached by public transportation since it sits some distance from the city center. A shuttle service from the nearest bus stop helps with the final part of your journey.

From the roof, you can see a stark contrast between South Korean urban development and the more rural landscape across the river. This difference illustrates how the two sides have developed in opposite directions.
