Dadohaehaesang National Park

Dadohaehaesang National Park spans 2,321 square kilometers, incorporating 1,700 islands, with 1,986 square kilometers of marine area and 334 square kilometers of land territory.

The Korean government established Dadohaehaesang National Park in December 1981, marking it as the largest protected natural area in South Korea.

Local fishing communities within the park maintain traditional maritime practices, contributing to the preservation of regional fishing methods and seafood preparation techniques.

Visitors can access the park through Mokpo Ferry Terminal, where regular boat services connect to major islands including Hongdo, Heuksando, and Baekdo.

The park houses 1,541 plant species and 1,221 animal species, including rare Eurasian river otters, minke whales, and Asian black bears.
