Sapieha Palace Park, Historic palace park in Antakalnis, Lithuania
Sapieha Palace Park is a baroque estate with a High Baroque palace, formal gardens, and ponds set within the Antakalnis district. Tree-lined avenues connect different sections across the landscaped grounds.
The estate was built between 1691 and 1697 for nobleman Jan Kazimierz Sapieha as a High Baroque residence. An ancient linden tree at the entrance has stood for approximately 300 years and marks the original gateway.
Monkey sculptures and an Iron Wolf statue scattered throughout the park reference Vilnius' founding legend. These artworks reflect how local mythology has been woven into the park's design and atmosphere.
The park is free to enter and open year-round for exploration without needing tickets. Walking paths connect all sections, making it easy to move between different areas on foot.
The wooden building in the park's center once served as a hospital and now hosts Vilnius Tech Park, home to numerous IT companies. It demonstrates how a historic structure has been repurposed for the modern tech industry.
