Hlawga National Park

The nature reserve extends across 6.23 square kilometers, containing evergreen forests, mixed deciduous forests, and swamp forests with multiple lakes.

The Ministry of Forestry proposed the sanctuary around Hlawga Lake in 1955 to commemorate the Sixth Buddhist Council, leading to its establishment in 1982.

The park serves as an environmental education center where visitors learn about Myanmar's indigenous wildlife through guided programs and exhibitions.

Visitors can access the park through three distinct zones offering activities such as safari bus rides, elephant encounters, hiking trails, and lakeside boat tours.

The reserve hosts 192 bird species, 25 mammal species, and 295 plant varieties, including rare specimens like the white-throated babbler and Lagerstroemia speciosa trees.
