The residence became Aung San Suu Kyi's home in 1953 when she moved there with her mother Khin Kyi after her elder brother's death.
The house gained recognition as a meeting point during the 1988 protests where citizens gathered to discuss political changes with Aung San Suu Kyi.
Visitors can locate the residence along University Avenue Road in Bahan Township, marked by a high wall and security personnel at the entrance.
The Supreme Court of Myanmar issued a decision in 2022 to auction the property, which the National Unity Government declared a cultural heritage site.
