Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple, Buddhist temple in Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
The temple features a massive 66-meter-long reclining Buddha statue with carefully detailed hand-painted exterior and large glass eyes measuring 1.77 meters.
Sir Po Tha funded the temple's construction in 1899, leading to its completion in 1907, though the original Buddha image required replacement in the 1950s.
The temple contains 36 small Buddha statues and a special footprint design incorporating 108 marks, representing significant Buddhist symbolism.
The temple remains open continuously throughout the year, allowing visitors to explore the religious structure and its artifacts at any time.
The current Buddha statue's glass eyes were specifically manufactured at Naga Glass Factory to precise measurements for this particular installation.
