Kamuku National Park

The park spans 1,120 square kilometers of protected land containing savanna, woodlands, and forest areas with diverse plant communities and wildlife populations.

Founded in 1999, the area evolved from the Native Authority Forest Reserve of Birnin Gwari, which was first established in 1936 to protect natural resources.

The Gwari and Kamuku communities near the park maintain traditional practices of farming and craftsmanship, considering several locations within the grounds sacred.

Visitors can access guided tours, wildlife observation points, and hiking trails through the park, with basic facilities available in neighboring communities.

The park features Goron Dutse, an inselberg displaying distinctive black and white surface patterns, and Dogon Ruwa waterfalls within its boundaries.
