Ecodrome, Nature and culture park in Zwolle, Netherlands.
Ecodrome was an amusement park in Zwolle featuring multiple themed zones that took visitors through different climates and environments. The park offered paddling activities through artificial swamps and exhibition spaces dedicated to Earth's natural history across its various areas.
The park was built around a pavilion from the 1992 Floriade festival that originally housed environmental exhibits in another location. It reopened in Zwolle where it operated until the municipality stopped funding it in 2012.
The park integrated educational elements through its Time Travel Expedition, teaching visitors about Earth's formation through immersive experiences and presentations.
The park is no longer operational and cannot be visited today. The site was not preserved as a public space after closure.
The park housed live caimans named Hap and Snap that visitors could observe while paddling through the artificial wetlands. These animals were popular attractions that made the experience more personal and memorable.
