Trollryggen, Mountain summit in Rauma Municipality, Norway
Trollryggen rises to 1725 meters in elevation, forming part of the Trolltindane mountain range with its vertical rock formations and steep cliffs.
The first winter ascent of Trollryggen's north face occurred in 1973 by Polish mountaineers Wojciech Kurtyka, Marek Kęsicki, Ryszard Kowalewski, and Tadeusz Piotrowski.
The mountain's name reflects Norwegian folklore, as 'Trollryggen' translates to 'Troll Ridge' in reference to the mythological creatures of Nordic traditions.
Climbers accessing Trollryggen should plan their expeditions during summer months and bring appropriate gear for technical climbing on the challenging north face.
The north face of Trollryggen forms part of Trollveggen, recognized as the tallest vertical rock wall in Europe with a height of 1100 meters.
